What is ESG?
Learn more about what ESG is and what Fresh is doing below.
Environmental, social and corporate governance. A topic that is increasingly driving both investor and company investment decisions. ESG investing is sometimes referred to as sustainable investing, responsible investing, impact investing, or socially responsible investing.
ESG are a set of three standards, which demonstrate key commitments on important issues:
Representing the notable impact a company has on the environment, and the actionable steps they’re taking to reduce their overall footprint;
Which addresses a companies relationship and devotion to equality, diversity and inclusivity as well as external impact and action within the community; and
Which is driven by the way a company governs itself in terms of ethical decisions, a company’s leadership, executive pay, and shareholder rights.
Why is it important?
As we understand the importance of ESG, we recognise it’s not just a fad or another box to tick. Thinking and acting on ESG in a proactive way can provide significant opportunities, and has lately become even more pressing as it begins to represent long-term value creation, build trust and sustainable growth.
Now more than ever, companies need to meet standards of corporate responsibility, and acknowledge / demonstrate a strong focus on sustainability.
For investors wanting to make a positive contribution to the environment and society, impact investing should be one of the many factors that remain front of mind when considering investment decisions.
